Kitchell Memorial Library-Morrisonville

Library Policies

The following policies govern how we use our library.

Acceptable Use of the Internet and Library Public Computers

Kitchell Memorial Library welcomes the use of computers by children, but beginning March 1, 2007, children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian if the child wishes to use the Internet.  The parent or guardian must be at the computer workstation with the child while using the Internet for the child's own safety.

The library offers numerous computer programs such as encyclopedias and games which do not involve the Internet.  These programs will allow children to do homework assignments without involving the Internet.  Children may also request the librarian to download information on a subject for a school project from the Internet.  The librarian will be able to choose a "child friendly" Internet site.

The Kitchell Memorial Library Board of Trustees appreciates your understanding of and the need for this new computer/Internet policy, which will hopefully keep our community's childdren safe in this new age of electronics.

POLICY FOR USE OF CD’S, VHS, AND DVD’S: This media is for educational, informational, and recreational purposes only.  Our collection is separated and marked for adults and children.  Parents or guardians of minor children must assume responsibility for and monitor the use of this media for their own children.  Morrisonville Library assumes no liability for minor children’s access to inappropriate visual or other materials.

This notice is posted on the media shelving in Kitchell Memorial Library.
